Meet The Doctors

Matthew C. Moen, DMD

 

Dr. Matthew Moen was born and raised in Lewistown, Montana.  He attended Carroll College and received his BA in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.  Following undergrad, Dr. Moen attended the prestigious Oregon Health Sciences University School of dentistry where he graduated with clinical honors in 2009.  He received the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Award and the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry Award.  These awards recognize outstanding student achievement and dedication to the discipline of oral and maxillofacial surgery and anesthesiology as well as academic scholarship and clinical proficiency in fixed and removeable prosthodontics.  Dr. Moen also received the Hanau Best of the Best Award given for outstanding knowledge and expertise in the study and practice of prosthodontics. 

Dr. Moen is an active member in the American Dental Association, Montana Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.  He also belongs to the Montana Study Group headed by Dr. Ed McClarren of (UCLA).  The Montana Study Group consists of a team of general dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, periodontists that continually strive to enhance their knowledge of dentistry through research, continuing education, and clinical practice.  Dr. Moen belongs to the Frank Spear Study Group. 

Dr. Moen is passionate assisting charity organizations.  He worked on the medical teams international van and has participated in give kids a smile event since 2007.  He has volunteered in the local school systems and boys and girls club to educate children and provide dental screenings.  Dr. Moen obtained his hospital privileges in 2009 at the Central Montana Medical Center to treat children and people with special needs under general anesthesia with a nurse anesthetist/anesthesiologist.  Dr. Moen is the resident dentist at the Nexus Treatment Facility in Lewistown, MT. 

Dr. Moen enjoys playing basketball, fly fishing, hiking, camping, watersports, snow skiing, and his true passion bow hunting.  He loves spending free time with his wife Vanessa and two daughters; Kenzington and Kennedy.  He moved back to his hometown in 2009 to join his father Don in practice and enjoys being able to give back to the community where he was raised!

Donald K. Moen DDS

Dr. Donald Moen was born in Butte Montana and graduated from Butte High in 1973. He attended Carroll College in Helena Montana and graduated with a BA degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 1977. He attended the University of Minnesota Dental School and graduated with honors in 1981 with a DDS degree.

Dr. Moen is an active Member of the American Dental Association, Montana Dental Association, and the Eighth District Dental Society since 1981. He was inducted into the American College of Dentistry 18 years ago and remains an active member. He has also been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Moen has been involved with the Montana Study Club for twelve years. The club was under the mentorship of the internationally know prosthodontist Dr. Frank Spear. The Club meets four times a year for tow day sessions focusing on new techniques and the achievement of clinical excellence through proper diagnosis and treatment planning. The club is now being mentored by Dr. Ed McClaren a renouned esthetic and porcelain expert from UCLA. Dr Moen is committed to doing high quality work for his patients. He is especially interested in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry along with all other general dentistry.

Dr. Moen was just named the clinician of the year for the state of Montana in 2016 and was recently inducted into the International College Dentist Hall of Fame.

Dr. Moen is know by his patients for his kind gentle and caring nature. Dr. Moen has been providing excellent care to the Lewistown area for 32 years along with his wife who is a dental hygienist. Their dream of building a state of the art dental facility became a reality in 2009. His son Matt joined the practice in 2009 and is now a partner in the Moen Family Dental Practice.



 

Dr. Alexandra Bold


Dr. Alexandra Bold was born in Lewistown and raised on the Bold Farm and Ranch outside of Winifred, Montana.  She graduated valedictorian from Winifred High School in 2011 and attended Carroll College where she graduated with honors.  She received her BA in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2015.  She was awarded the Raymond G. Hunthausen Outstanding Collegiate Citizenship Award for her dedication to community volunteerism and active drive for betterment of the student body.

Following undergrad, Dr. Bold graduated from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics in 2019.  She was awarded the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation Award for Excellence in Geriatrics and Special Needs Dentistry from the Department of Community and Preventative Dentistry for exceptional clinical proficiency and understanding of complex oral health needs of the frail, elderly and medically complex adult as well as the Dean’s Leadership Award for exceptional dedication, leadership, and loyalty to the student body and programs of the college.  She graduated the 3rd highest in clinical skills and production in her class.  Dr. Bold’s compassion towards others was always one of her highest goals, and she created several long-lasting friendships with her patients who praised her for her relaxed, calming mannerisms and gentle dentistry.  She committed much of her time to volunteerism through the Iowa Mission of Mercy (IMOM) free dental clinics, as well as helping raise over $80,000 for various fundraisers by playing music in the band Homebrewed: Music with a Mission.

Dr. Bold has worked with diverse communities by participating in dental services at an Indian Health Service clinic in northern Minnesota as well as mobile clinics to nursing homes and special needs facilities with the Geriatric and Special Care clinic in Iowa.  She enjoys working with all age groups and hopes to continue doing so. 

In her free time, Dr. Bold enjoys participating in and attending sporting events, playing music (trombone and fiddle), and travelling.  She is close to her family and is glad to be back in Central Montana!
